The Bayhawks picked up first year defenseman Brian Megill from the Denver Outlaws in exchange for midfielder Dom Sebastiani and the eighth pick in the 2014 Collegiate Draft, according to head coach Dave Cottle.
“This trade was one that was built on two teams having great depth in two different positions,” Cottle said. “Denver had great numbers and strength at defense and the Bayhawks were strong at short stick d-middie."
Megill, drafted seventh overall in the 2013 MLL draft, played nine games with Denver and recorded 26 ground balls. He was ranked fifth in the NCAA in individual caused turnovers per game.
"Brian helps us get more athletic and quicker at close defense. It will be a trade that helps both teams,” Cottle said.
