Cannons hand Bayhawks first loss in OT

The Chesapeake Bayhawks fell in their first loss of the season in overtime 15-14 to the Boston Cannons at Harvard Stadium in Massachusetts despite six points from John Grant, Jr. 

Boston's Ryan Boyle scored the game-winner 1:26 into the sudden death period, beating Bayhawks goaltender Kip Turner and sending Chesapeake to 3-1 on the season. 

“We lost a lot of face-offs early so we didn’t have the ball much. When we did get possession, we were kind of in hurry mode. We didn’t do a good job of giving our defense a rest by possessing the ball on offense,” Chesapeake head coach Dave Cottle said.
