HAMILTON, ONTARIO – The Chesapeake Bayhawks blow out the Hamilton Nationals, 17-10, with midfielders Ben Hunt and Matt Mackrides scoring four points each. Mackrides chipped in three goals and an assist while Hunt contributed three goals with one of them being a 2-pointer. Steven Brooks and Drew Westervelt also contributed with hat tricks of their own.
A dominating defensive effort was anchored by goalkeeper Kip Turner recording 13 saves. With this win, Chesapeake snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 5-4. The Bayhawks controlled the possession battle with the help of faceoff speciallist, Adam Rand. Rand had a big night by capturing 18 of 29 draws.
“When you are unselfish and share the ball, everyone gets involved and you have the type of balanced scoring we did tonight,” Chesapeake head coach Dave Cottle said. “Matt Mackrides continues to be a sparkplug on offense while Ben Hunt has been practicing better and is beginning to play really well.”
