LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Scott Boras was surrounded by dozens of reporters and cameras. He had just finished a radio interview, and each winter meetings, he offers his thoughts on his clients and the state of the market.

On Tuesday night, Orioles executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette said that the time to discuss contract extensions for Chris Davis and Matt Wieters was not right now.

“There’s a time of the year to do that, and it’s not right now,” Duquette said.

Late in Boras’ media scrum, he got around to talking about the Orioles. Boras said if there were discussions on extensions, it would be with Orioles owner Peter Angelos.

“I’m sure that conversation will be with Peter and I someday, but certainly welcome to entertain it, look at it,” Boras said.

The uberagent said he speaks with Duquette regularly, perhaps two or three times a month, and he visited Baltimore near the end of the season.

“Dan and I talk frequently, if not two or three times a month, had a meeting in September, so we have a good working relationship, had one when he was in Boston,” Boras said. “He’s got great hair, too.”
