Early this morning, the Orioles tweeted the news: LHP Zach Britton will start Saturday nights game against DET.It was obvious after Steve Johnson pitched two innings in relief on Thursday that Britton would be the starter on Friday.Even though Brittons start in the 14-inning game against Seattle on Aug. 8 had been a rocky one, it wasnt bad enough to force his option to Norfolk.Had the game been decided in nine innings, Britton wouldnt have been optioned. Tommy Hunter was slated to pitch the next night, but warmed up in the bullpen in the 14th inning. Johnson was recalled and started in place of Hunter. Now, Britton whos spent the requisite 10 days in Norfolk is back, and Johnson may be the odd man out.Britton is 1-1 with an 8.10 ERA in five starts. Hell face Rick Porcello (9-7, 4.68).
