BALTIMORE – After Wednesday’s game, Orioles manager Buck Showalter admitted he had misspoken. Dylan Bundy has not yet seen orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.
On Tuesday, Showalter said that Bundy had asked for a second opinion with the noted orthopedist because he didn’t like how he felt in a throwing session in Sarasota, Fla. on Monday.
Before Wednesday’s game, Showalter said that he had no new information on Bundy, and that he wasn’t going to be providing updates on him.
When Showalter concluded his post-game news conference, he said that Bundy would see Orioles team orthopedist Dr. John Wilckens on Thursday to check on his right elbow and forearm.
Bundy is now scheduled to see Dr. Andrews on Monday, Showalter said.
Bundy, the fourth overall pick in 2011, pitched in two games for the Orioles last September after pitching in Delmarva, Frederick and Bowie. He was scheduled to start the minor league season with the Baysox, but he was shut down early this month.
The 20-year-old had an MRI, which found no damage to the elbow.
