HOUSTON – Nelson Cruz, who began Sunday as the major league leader in home runs and runs batted in left the game after he was hit by a pitch from Texas’ Scott Feldman.

In the third inning, Cruz took a pitch on the hand and was immediately attended to by head athletic trainer Richie Bancells and manager Buck Showalter. He stayed in the game and stole second as part of a double steal with Manny Machado.
