Chris Davis has suffered through many hitless streaks this season. On Friday night, he had a special, unforgettable streak.In his first three times at bat, Davis hit three long home runs. The homers drove in four runs and sent the Orioles to a 6-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays before 25,754.After the Blue Jays (56-69) took at 1-0 lead in the top of the second off Zach Britton (3-1), Davis led off the bottom of the second with a long home run to right that landed on Eutaw Street.His second home run in the bottom of the fourth off Carlos Villaneuva (6-4) landed in the right field bleachers, and made it 2-1.
In the sixth, Nate McLouth singled, Adam Jones doubled, and Matt Wieters hit a fly ball to center that scored McLouth. Villaneuva was replaced by Steve Delabar, and Davis greeted him by homering to left field. It was his 23rd of the season, and the first three home run game by an Oriole since Nick Markakis hit three on Aug. 22, 2006. It was the fourth three-home run game by an Oriole in the history of Oriole Park. Roberto Alomar, Albert Belle and Markakis have the others.Davis struck out swinging in the eighth in his fourth at-bat.Britton took a 5-1 lead into the seventh. He was removed with two out and two on. Darren ODay allowed an RBI double to Rajai Davis, and then Brian Matusz, making his initial major league relief appearance, struck out Colby Rasmus to end the inning.Britton has won two straight since his recall from Norfolk. He struck out three and didnt walk a batter. -Davis first home run was the ninth to land on Eutaw Street this season, setting a record.
