BALTIMORE – Dan Duquette told fans that he would consider making a trade between now and the end of the July 31 trading deadline. In answering questions to Orioles’ season ticket holders, Duquette said that the team has the financial resources to make deals.

“The addition of Scott Feldman to our team was a sign that we want to be in this thing,” Duquette said on Saturday afternoon.

Duquette, the Orioles executive vice president for baseball operations, swung a trade with the Chicago Cubs last week for Feldman.

“We may have an opportunity to add to the team,” Duquette said. “We have the resources here.”
Several thousand fans sat behind the third base dugout to question Duquette and manager Buck Showalter about the team.

“We have the wherewithal to make some more trades if we need to make more trades,” Duquette said.
“We have a little more depth in our farm system.”

Duquette mentioned Dylan Bundy, Kevin Gausman, Frederick first baseman Christian Walker and Henry Urrutia as the most inquired about players.

“We have the depth to make a trade, but we’re looking at some of the those players as key players of the future,” Duquette said.

Urrutia, Walker and Bowie left-handed pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez will play in Sunday’s Futures Game at Citi Field.

In answer to a fan’s question about Urrutia, who’s currently at Norfolk, Duquette hinted that his promotion to the Orioles may be coming closer.

“After the Futures Game, I think it’s something we’ll keep an eye on very closely,” Duquette said.
