SARASOTA, Fla. – It’s been a spring of change for Kevin Gausman. He changed his number twice, and now he’s wearing goggle-type glasses.

Gausman says he’s bothered by contact lenses, and wore the glasses in his workout on Wednesday.

He’s scheduled to start the evening half of the split-squad on Saturday in Fort Myers against Boston, but isn’t sure he’s going to wear the glasses.

“I like them. They take a little while to get used to. Yesterday, I didn’t really notice anything. Every couple of pitches they would start to fall down a little bit, and I’d push them back on,” Gausman said.

“I don’t really like the feeling of contacts. I don’t know why. I guess I just don’t like the idea of having something in my eye. My right eye is a lot worse than my left, and I had one of my contacts split.”
