Tonight’s Game:

Baltimore Orioles (43-35) vs. Cleveland Indians (39-37) 7:05 p.m. Oriole Park

Starting pitchers:

Jason Hammel (7-4, 5.30) vs. Scott Kazmir (4-4, 5.37)

Keys to the game:

Hammel is due for a breakout performance. He hasn’t won in his last four starts (two losses, two no-decisions.) Hammel hasn’t pitched badly in his last three, but not well enough to win.

Adam Jones needs to be more selective. He hasn’t walked since May 18, and has eight times as many strikeouts as walks. (64 to 8).

News and Notes:

Hammel is 0-3 with a 6.20 ERA against Cleveland.

Mark Reynolds, Drew Stubbs and Nick Swisher have struck out 15 times in 35 at-bats against Hammel.

Kazmir is 5-5 with a 4.80 ERA in 15 starts against the Orioles.

Nick Markakis is 10-for-21 with seven RBIs against Kazmir.
