SARASOTA, Fla. – After leaving camp on Monday, Manny Machado was back a day later. A visit to the doctor following up on his physical was required, but Machado said everything was fine.
“It was just a personal thing I had to do,” Machado said. “The doctor was waiting for me. I got in and got out."
Manager Buck Showalter said that Machado was suffering from acid reflux, and when questioned on it, the 20-year-old third baseman said he had a family history.
“Full go. Full go. I’m ready to go. Ready to get back out there. Kind of bored yesterday. Ready to come back out here and participate with the team,” Machado said.
Today is the seventh day of camp, and pitchers aren’t throwing. On Wednesday and Thursday the Orioles will play intrasquad games.
The exhibition season opens on Saturday at Ed Smith Stadium when the Orioles host Minnesota at 1:05 p.m.
