DUNEDIN, Fla. – After scratching himself from the Orioles lineup on Sunday with neck spasms, Nick Markakis says that he’s feeling better
“It’s better than the last two days, so that’s a good sign,” Markakis said Tuesday in Sarasota.
Markakis wasn’t scheduled to make the 90-minute trip to Dunedin for the team’s game against Toronto nor will he play on Wednesday against Spain.
“I don’t know if I did it lifting or something, but I just went home a couple of nights ago, I tried to stretch it out, but it didn’t help. [Sunday] morning I woke up, and it was real stiff and bothering me. I never had anything like it, so I didn’t know what to expect,” Markakis said.
Markakis was optimistic he’d be able to play soon.
“Pretty safe to say a couple of more days. If the season was going on today, I’d be able to play, but it’s spring, so I’ll take it easy. There’s no rush,” Markakis said.
“Today’s a lot better than yesterday, so that’s all we can hope for.”
