SARASOTA, Fla. – The Maryland Stadium Authority announced that smoking will be banned this season at both Oriole Park and M&T Bank Stadium.
Previously, smoking was permitted in designated areas of both stadiums. The ban will include all games and events held at both Camden Yards structures.
According to a release, the ban also prohibits smoking within 25 feet of the stadiums.
The Orioles will announce a policy to allow smokers to exit and re-enter the stadium prior to Opening Day. The Ravens have announced that the team will allow fans who wish to smoke to re-enter the stadium for their games and other events.
Most other area sports venues have long since banned smoking. Nationals Park, which opened in 2008, has never allowed smoking, but does allow reentry.
