A week ago, the Orioles reportedly reached an agreement with Tyler Colvin on a major league contract. The signing was supposed to be announced before the end of the week.

It never was.

Now, there are reportedly issues with Colvin’s physical according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com. It wouldn’t ordinarily be a big deal, but if it’s true it would be the second time in a month that the team nixed an agreement.

Colvin’s wasn’t a headline signing. He would have had a difficult time making the team out of spring training. Last year, he batted .160 in 27 games for Colorado.

Last month, Grant Balfour reached an agreement on a two-year contract with the Orioles, and it wasn’t consummated because of physical issues. That was a big story. If this one is true, it’s only noteworthy because of the Balfour mess.
