BALTIMORE – For the third consecutive season, Orioles attendance is up. Sunday’s crowd of 44,230 was the seventh sellout of the season, no doubt helped by the Chris Davis bobblehead giveaway.
2013’s attendance was 2,357,101, an average of 29,100. It’s an increase of more than 255,000 from last year, and is the team’s highest attendance since 2005 when it drew 2.64 million.
The Orioles have the fourth highest increase in baseball behind Toronto, Los Angeles and the Nationals.
Next year’s Opening Day is set for March 31 against the Boston Red Sox, Sunday’s opponent.
It will be the third time in the last four years the Orioles will open against the same opponent they ended the season with.
