BALTIMORE – The Orioles are certainly more popular in 2013. Entering Wednesday’s game, the team’s attendance is up 264,932 about 3,600 per game, which is the third largest in baseball.

The team is on a pace to draw 2.36 million fans, the largest since 2005.

The team’s television ratings are up 50 percent, and according to Major League Baseball, the telecasts beat Baltimore broadcast station prime averages in important demographics in both the second and third quarter this season.

The game’s ratings are on pace for the best rating since statistics began being kept in 2001.

The team’s merchandise sales are up a robust 89 percent, which is the largest gain in the major leagues.

NOTES: The Orioles have struck out 10 or more batters in each of the last four games, tying the club record of June 7-9, 1966.
