Wei-Yin Chen has been named to Baseball America’s All-Rookie Team.

Chen, who was 12-11 with a 4.02 ERA in his first season in the U.S., joins Texas’ Yu Darvish, Milwaukee’s Mike Fiers, Oakland’s Jarrod Parker and Arizona’s Wade Miley in the rotation.

The outfield on Baseball America’s team is particularly impressive. The Nationals’ Bryce Harper, the Athletics’ Yoenis Cespedes and the Angels’ Mike Trout, are the outfielders. Trout is the overwhelming favorite to win Rookie of the Year when it’s announced on Nov. 12.

The rest of the team is Colorado’s Willin Rosario at catcher, the Cubs’ Anthony Rizzo at first base, Miami’s Donovan Solano at second base, Cincinnati’s Zack Cozart at short and Todd Frazier at third.

San Diego’s Yonder Alonso was the designated hitter. Oakland’s Ryan Cook, the Rangers’ Robbie Ross and Kansas City’s Kelvin Herrera are the relievers.

Chen is the first Oriole to be named to Baseball America’s All-Rookie Team since Nolan Reimold in 2009.

Manny Machado has too many at-bats to be eligible for Rookie of the Year honors next season.

NOTE:

-The Orioles have signed outfielder George Barber to a minor league contract. In 2010, Barber played seven games for the Angels’ rookie league team in Arizona.
