BALTIMORE – After waiting nearly two hours, the Orioles game with the Los Angeles Dodgers was postponed on Friday night. The game will be made up on Saturday at 1:05 p.m.
Friday's game was scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m., and heavy rain was forecast for several hours after that.
The tarp was put on the field about 30 minutes before game time, and the game was finally postponed shortly before 9 p.m.
Jason Hammel (2-1, 4.34) will pitch against Hyun-Jin Ryu (2-1, 2.89) in Saturday's first game. For the regularly scheduled game at 7:05 p.m., Wei-Yin Chen (0-2, 4.00) faces Josh Beckett (0-2, 3.26).
The celebration of Earl Weaver’s life scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday will go on as scheduled.
Tickets for Friday night’s game will be honored for Saturday’s 1:05 p.m. game.
