Tonight's Game:

Baltimore Orioles (81-71) vs. Tampa Bay Rays(83-69) 7:10 p.m. Tropicana Field

Starting pitchers:

Jason Hammel (7-8, 5.12) vs. David Price (8-8, 3.42)

Keys to the game:

The Orioles are in the “must win” mode. It’s the first of four games against Tampa Bay, one of three teams they trail for the wild-card. They’re two games behind the Rays and Rangers and a 1 ½ behind Cleveland.

Hammel hasn’t won since May 27, and a win in Tampa Bay, the team he broke in with, would be huge.

News and Notes:

Price is 7-2 with a 2.65 ERA in 15 starts against the Orioles.

Adam Jones is batting .211 (8-for-38) against Price. Matt Wieters is 12-for-35 (.343) against Price and Danny Valencia is 9-for-12 facing him.

The Orioles may lose a pitcher over the weekend. One of them has a family issue and could have to leave the team.

In the last 16 games, the Orioles haven’t scored more than five runs. That’s the longest run of games without six scored since Sept. 1992.
