A number of younger and rehabbing Orioles are gathering in Baltimore on Wednesday for a three-day mini-camp.
It will be a busy few days for the Orioles, most of who will be attending FanFest on Saturday.
Autograph sessions sold out within an hour of being listed, and most of the players on the 40-man roster are listed as participating.
J.J. Hardy won’t be attending because his sister is getting married. He made a trip from Arizona last month to attend the Orioles’ Christmas Party for children.
Wei-Yin Chen, Tsuyoshi Wada, Xavier Avery, Yamaico Navarro, and catchers Luis Exposito and Luis Martinez are not listed as participating, though Martinez was acquired about the time the schedule was announced.
Last year’s first-round draft choice, Kevin Gausman will be there, and so will Lew Ford, who’s a non-roster outfielder.
Several former Orioles will be there: Brady Anderson, Al Bumbry, Mike Devereaux, Chris Hoiles, Ryan Minor, Jim Palmer
and Arthur Rhodes.
Minor will soon be announced as Frederick’s manager, a step up from his previous job at Delmarva.
The Orioles have announced their promotions schedule for this season, and it begins on Opening Day when magnetic schedules are given out.
There will be four fireworks nights, all on Fridays: June 14, July 12, Aug. 4 and Sept. 27.
July 12 also will feature a 30th anniversary Orioles 1983 World Series Champions Floppy Hat.
On July 14 and Aug. 4, kids can run around the bases after the game.
T-Shirts will be given out on May 29 and July 9. The Orioles have yet to determine whose jerseys they will be.
During Fan Appreciation week, T-Shirts will be distributed on Sept. 26 and bobbleheads on the last day of the regular season, Sept. 29.
Adam Jones replica away jerseys will be given out on July 13.
There will also be giveaways for travel kits (June 16), beach towels (June 27), and batting practice caps (July 14)
