BALTIMORE – The Orioles have no word on Dylan Bundy, who underwent an examination on his right elbow and forearm Tuesday with Dr. James Andrews in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Bundy, who has yet to pitch this season, requested a second opinion on his arm after trying to throw on Monday. The Orioles sent him to Andrews.
Manager Buck Showalter and his team leave after Wednesday’s game for an 11-game road trip to Oakland, Seattle and Los Angeles.
“They've got it now. I've got 25 here," Showalter said. "We're getting ready to go west. He's in good hands. They'll handle it, so I'll be out of the updating business for a while."
The 20-year-old Bundy was the club’s No. 1 draft pick in 2011 and the fourth overall. He pitched for Delmarva, Frederick and Bowie before appearing in two September games for the Orioles last season. He was expected to start the season at Bowie.
