SARASOTA, Fla. – The Orioles will hold a celebration in honor of Earl Weaver on Saturday Apr. 20. at 2 p.m.
“A Celebration of Earl” will include a video tribute and remembrances from Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, Rick Dempsey, manager Buck Showalter, Baseball Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson and Mike Weaver, Earl’s son.
Weaver died on Jan. 19. at 82.
Gates A and H will open at 1 p.m., and fans can park in Lots B or C. After the event, the ballpark will be cleared and reopen at 5 p.m. for that night’s game with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Orioles are wearing a patch on their sleeve to commemorate Weaver’s life.
