If you’ve ever dreamed of being on the field for an Orioles game, here’s your chance. On Sat. Mar. 9, the Orioles will hold tryouts for potential ballboys and ballgirls for the 2013 season.

Beginning at noon, men and women over 18 are invited to tryout. The Orioles say they’re looking for “outgoing and athletic” candidates.

Applicants should dress casually and bring their own gloves. Enter Oriole Park through Home Plate Plaza and park in Lot A. The Orioles are also recommending those interested bring a resume.

The judges include members of the Orioles front office, former catcher Chris Hoiles, broadcaster Jim Hunter and local disc jockeys.

The most noted ballgirl in baseball history may be Debbi Fields, who founded Mrs. Fields cookies. She was a ballgirl for the Oakland Athletics as a teenager and paid $5 an hour.
