Today’s Game:

Baltimore Orioles (81-74) vs. Tampa Bay Rays (86-69), Tropicana Field, 3:10 p.m.

Starting pitchers:

Wei-Yin Chen (7-7, 4.03) vs. Chris Archer (9-7, 3.02)

Keys to the Game:

The Orioles aren’t hitting. They have just two runs and 10 hits over the last 29 innings. And, in the game before their 18-inning loss, they had just two hits.

Chen has won just once in his last nine starts. His four September starts have been no-decisions.

News and Notes:

The Orioles are trailing Cleveland, the second wild-card team, by 4 ½ games with seven to play. They are also behind Texas, Kansas City and New York.

The Orioles have lost 12 of 18 games to Tampa Bay this season. It’s the second most since the Rays began play in 1998.

Ben Zobrist is 10-for-20 against Chen.

Adam Jones and Manny Machado are the only teammates who have played in each of their team’s games.
