Unless CC Sabathia comes up big, and of course, he is big, the New York Yankees will be swept in four games in the American League Championship Series on Wednesday night.

The Yankees, who’ve been in the postseason 17 times in the last 18 years, have gone 35 straight series without being swept.

Lots of Orioles fans are hoping that streak ends on Wednesday night.

The Yankees were last swept by the Kansas City Royals in three games in 1980’s ALCS. Until 1985, the LCS were best three-of-five games.

New York has been swept three times in the World Series: 1922 (New York Giants), 1963 (Los Angeles Dodgers) and 1976 (Cincinnati Reds).

The Orioles have never been swept in 18 postseason series.
