Orioles shift roles for Graham, Stockstill

The Orioles beefed up their minor league staff with the appointment of Kent Qualls as the Director of Minor League Operations. For the past 10 years, Qualls worked as the Director of the Dan Duquette Sports Academy.

Before that, Qualls worked for Duquette with Montreal and Boston. He’ll oversee the business side of the minor league operation.

Brian Graham, who is in his second stint with the Orioles, will be the Director of Player Development. He was previously the Orioles Coordinator of Player Instruction.

John Stockstill, who previously served as Director of Player Development will shift to Director of Player Personnel. Stockstill, who joined the Orioles in Dec. 2005, will oversee minor and major league scouting.

The Orioles  officially announced their minor league staffs. Ron Johnson will return as Norfolk’s manager, Gary Kendall goes back to Bowie while Ryan Minor is shifting from Delmarva to Frederick. Luis Pujols and Matt Merullo join the organization as managers of Delmarva and Aberdeen. Orlando Gomez shifts from Frederick to Gulf Coast.
