Tonight's Game:

Baltimore Orioles (77-66) vs. New York Yankees (76-68) 7:05 p.m. Oriole Park

Starting pitchers:

Miguel Gonzalez (9-7, 3.98) vs. Ivan Nova (8-4, 3.02)

Keys to the game:

Nova threw his only two major league complete games in his last two starts against the Orioles. They’ll need to find a way to solve him.

After six winless starts, Gonzalez pitched seven strong innings in beating the White Sox on Thursday. The Orioles would like another one.

News and Notes:

The Orioles begin play tied with Cleveland 1 ½ games behind Tampa Bay for the final Wild Card spot.

With a win in one of the final three games of the series, the Orioles will take the season series from the Yankees for the first time since 1997. They lead 9-7.

Robinson Cano is 2-for-18 against Gonzalez. Curtis Granderson is only 1-for-14 with six strikeouts.

Matt Wieters is 11-for-26 with four home runs against Nova. Adam Jones is 7-for-32 with eight strikeouts.
