Tonight's Game:

Baltimore Orioles (77-67) vs. New York Yankees (77-68) 7:05 p.m. Oriole Park

Starting pitchers:

Scott Feldman (5-4, 3.63) vs. Andy Pettitte (10-9, 4.03)

Keys to the game:

The Orioles have to beat Pettitte, who they haven’t beaten in his last 12 starts against them. His last loss against the Orioles was Sept. 19, 2007.

Feldman threw a complete game in his last outing. Another deep start would help.

News and Notes:

The Orioles begin play tied with Cleveland 1 ½ games behind Tampa Bay for the final Wild Card spot. The Yankees are a half-game behind the Indians and Orioles.

The Orioles have lost their last six chances to go 12 games over .500 and haven’t been 12 games over since Aug. 12.

With a win in one of the final two games of the series, the Orioles will take the season series from the Yankees for the first time since 1997. They lead 9-7.

Pettitte has 28 wins against the Orioles, second most in history. Only Whitey Ford with 30, has more.

J.J. Hardy is just 3-for-25 against Pettitte.

Nick Markakis will probably not play. His wife was due to give birth to the couple’s third child.
