The Orioles hired Dave Anderson as their minor league infield instructor on Wednesday. Anderson was the Texas Rangers’ first base coach this season after four seasons as third base coach. He replaces Matt Martin who spent the 2013 season as the Orioles’ infield instructor, but was not asked back.

Anderson spent 10 seasons in the major leagues from 1983-1992, eight of them with the Dodgers and the other two with the Giants.

Earlier this month, Jeff Manto replaced Mike Boulanger as minor league hitting coordinator. Boulanger, who spent two years in that job, has been reassigned to scouting. Manto was the Chicago White Sox hitting coach for the past two seasons.
