Manny Machado Injury Update

Tonight’s Game:

Baltimore Orioles (81-76) vs. Toronto Blue Jays (72-85), Oriole Park, 7:05 p.m.

Starting pitchers:

Bud Norris (10-12, 4.12) vs. Esmil Rogers (5-8, 4.52)

Keys to the Game:

After being eliminated from the playoffs last night, the Orioles must win one more game to ensure their second straight winning season.

Norris hasn’t started since Sept. 8 due to a sore elbow. He’s 4-1 as a starter for the Orioles, and lost the team’s two longest games this year as a reliever.

News and Notes:

Manny Machado is scheduled to meet with reporters, one day after it is revealed he could avoid surgery on his left knee.

The Orioles have lost six straight, equaling their season high.

They’re five games over .500 for the first time since May 29.

The Orioles haven’t scored more than five runs in 21 straight games, the first time they’ve done that since Sept. 1992.

With the Orioles eliminated, it’s possible that infielder Jonathan Schoop, who has been with the team for three weeks, but yet to play, will get his chance.
