BOSTON – The decision for Saturday’s starter has come down to Miguel Gonzalez or Bud Norris. Gonzalez, who was removed from Sunday’s game in the sixth inning with a strained right groin, says he’s ready to go.

Norris, who missed a start last Friday with a sore right elbow was available in the bullpen on Wednesday and probably is headed there for Thursday’s game.

Jason Hammel is scheduled to pitch on Friday at Tampa Bay, Scott Feldman on Sunday and Wei-Yin Chen on Monday. Manager Buck Showalter said that there was a possibility that a personal situation with a pitcher that could change how his rotation lines up.

Tsuyoshi Wada and Zach Britton each threw two innings in a simulated game on Wednesday, but Showalter hasn’t committed to adding one or both of them to roster if there’s a need.
