SARASOTA, Fla. – Now that Manny Machado has arrived, all of the Orioles regulars are on hand. There are only five players who haven’t arrived, and manager Buck Showalter says he’s not holding it against them.

“That’s why it’s called voluntary,” Showalter said.

The five are all new acquisitions: Outfielders Xavier Paul and Francisco Peguero, infielders Alex Gonzalez and Ivan De Jesus and designated hitter candidate Delmon Young.

Position players don’t have to report until Tuesday, and the first full squad workout isn’t until Wednesday.

“They enjoy being here,” Showalter said. “They like being around each other.”

Showalter said that Chris Davis who was an early arrival chose not to work out on Saturday, and that was fine with him.

He says he won’t penalize any of the late arrivals.

NOTES: Outfielder Jimmy Paredes, who the Orioles claimed on waivers from Miami on Saturday, may be the player designated for assignment when Sun-min Yoon is officially signed.

Yoon has passed his physical, an industry source confirmed, but his signing has not yet been announced.

Paredes has not yet reported to camp.
