CHICAGO – Manny Machado will not be ready to play when he’s eligible on Wednesday. Machado, who’s been traveling with the team, has been on the disabled list with a sprained right knee.

Showalter says he may have a better idea of a timetable for Machado on Saturday.

“I’ll probably try to bring some clarity into that situation and gather what he’s being told as far as when baseball activity would start and all that stuff, I’ll try to clear that up for you, probably tomorrow, give you a more definitive idea,” he said.

NOTES: Norfolk’s Mike Wright came within one out of pitching a no-hitter at Durham on Wednesday night.

-Dariel Alvarez (outfield), Oliver Drake (rhp), Niuman Romero (third base) and Christian Walker (first base) are Bowie’s representatives on the Eastern League All-Star team. Alvarez and Walker are currently on Norfolk.
