The Orioles charter plane headed to Tampa Bay apparently had a small fire on it that forced the plane to make an emergency landing, according to several news reports. There were no reported injuries to anyone on the plane.
Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com tweeted tonight that the charter had small fire about and had to make an emergency landing. Players currently at Jacksonville airport while plane inspected.

In addition, CBSSports.com added another MASNsports.com note from Ned Rice, a member of the teams baseball operations department.
Rice posted on the MASN site that there was a small fire on our team flight to Tampa Bay. They came to us and told us we needed to make an emergency landing and then we were nearly free falling for a few minutes as they raced to get us on the ground as fast as possible.
Rice then joked that theyre enjoying the Jacksonville airport while the fire department checks out the plane.
The other good news is the Orioles clinched their playoff spot moments ago when the Rangers wrapped up an 8-7 victory over the Angels in Texas.
So the Orioles will be in the playoffsthey just dont know where.
