Chris Dickerson remains in limbo. Last Friday, many were surprised when the Orioles designated him for assignment after they purchased Henry Urrutia’s contract.

There has been interest in Dickerson from a few clubs. Earlier today, there was a report, quickly retracted, that Dickerson was about to be traded to the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Orioles have 10 days to trade, waive or release Dickerson. If he clears waivers, they could attempt to outright him to Norfolk. It seems unlikely that Dickerson would clear waivers.

Alex Burnett, Russ Canzler, Zach Clark, Luis Exposito, Travis Ishikawa, Jair Jurrjens, Yamaico Navarro and Chris Snyder were also designated for assignment this season.

Burnett and Ishikawa were lost on waivers, Canzler traded to Pittsburgh, Jurrjens left as a free agent while Clark, Exposito, Navarro and Snyder remained with the organization.
