The Bowie Baysox are going to do what many local groups have done since the Ravens won the Super Bowl about five months ago-- honor the team.
But Bowie's doing it in a bit of a different way.
The Baysox, Double-A farm team for the Orioles, are going to have "Ravens Pride Night" when they play the Richmond Flying Squirrels (yes, that's really their name) in an Eastern League game at Prince George's Stadium on Thursday, July 11 at 7:05 p.m.
On that night, the first 750 fans who are 13 and older get a Justin Tucker Bobbleleg Giveaway that night, a gift that honors Baltimore's kicker who played a big role in last year's Super Bowl triumph.
The Baysox will honor Tucker before the game in a ceremony on the field, and special autograph tickets can be purchased for $10 at www.baysox.com for those interested. However, only 250 autograph tickets will be available, and they need to be ordered in advance. Plus, a ticket to the game needed to be purchased along with the autograph ticket to get into the building.
Tucker also is scheduled to throw out the first pitch for all of those baseball fans in attendance. The Baysox said they're pleased to honor what the Ravens did in the Super Bowl on this night.
"The Ravens made an incredible run to win the Super Bowl last season and we are looking forward to celebrating that achievement during one of our games,”assistant GM Phil Wrye said. “We are excited that Ravens kicker Justin Tucker will be able to attend the game and show off some of his place-kicking skills for our fans.”
