Bernard Pollard’s decision not to join his former teammates when they get their Super Bowl rings or to come along for their visit to the White House, as well as some of his comments this week to 105.7 The Fan, could be an indication of why he’s a former Raven — as well as a former Chief and former Texan.

That’s the opinion expressed at NFL.com by Dan Hanzus, who writes: “Pollard is a skilled safety who has trouble sticking around. His seven seasons in the NFL tell us he has talent. Playing for four different teams during that stretch tells us he has a habit of making himself expendable.”

Pollard, who signed with the Titans after the Ravens let him go, told 105.7 (via ESPN.com) that he’ll be on a vacation next month when the Ravens meet the president. But there’s more to it than that.

"At the end of the day, I know what happened, I know what took place," Pollard said. "I’m sorry, I just don’t want to be in the room with certain people.”

Since he made it clear those certain people don’t include general manager Ozzie Newsome or his ex-teammates, it seems a fair assumption to infer he’s talking about coach John Harbaugh.

As for why he was released, Pollard said: "It's one of those things where you don't know. I don't understand. To be perfectly honest with you, I don't really care."
