How many times did the Patriots offense catch the Texans defense not ready at the snap in New England’s win on Sunday? That’s something for the Ravens to definitely be ready for next week in the AFC Championship Game.

It’s a byproduct of the no-huddle offenses run so often in the NFL that everyone rushes to the line, only to wait on the quarterback to read the defense and call the play. The defense may wait to set in reaction to the offensive formation. Unless the offense isn’t going to wait. Then, boom goes the dynamite, as it did for the Texans D on Sunday. The Houston defenders were standing around, waiting to get into position when Tom Brady got the snap. Next thing you know, the ball was in the end zone.

With Ray Lewis at the helm and veterans Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata having been around the NFL block more than a few times, the Ravens seem less likely to fall for this bit of subterfuge.
