Harbaugh: "Momentum is a funny thing."

EARLY BIRD: Waking up with the Ravens, a day off before they resume practice for Sunday’s game against the Bengals.

Two-minute topic: Will the Ravens (3-5) take advantage of having two games left against the Bengals (6-3)?

If the Ravens stop going in reverse, the Bengals can still be caught in the AFC North. The Ravens play the Bengals twice – this Sunday at M & T Bank Stadium, and the regular-season finale in Cincinnati. If the Ravens sweep the season series, the AFC North race will likely become very interesting.

Riding a three-game losing streak, the Ravens are desperate for a win against anyone. However, you can believe coach John Harbaugh has not given up on winning the division. Just ask him.

“There’s half the season left to play, and there’s going to be a lot of football played,” Harbaugh said. “There are a lot of games out there for us to win. We need to go stack some wins, and it’s all about this next game, which obviously, Cincinnati is leading the division. So this is an opportunity for us.”

But it will only pay off if the Ravens win.

Morning thought: “Momentum is a crazy thing. You’ve got to stop theirs and build yours.” – Harbaugh, reflecting on where the Ravens are at 3-5.
