Draft Day 3: Five potential targets for Ravens

Draft Day 3: Five potential targets for Ravens
May 10, 2014, 9:00 am

The Ravens have four draft picks Saturday  - two fourth-round picks (134, 138), a fifth-rounder (175), and a sixth-rounder (194). Their top remaining needs are right tackle, running back, nickel corner, and backup quarterback.  Here are five names I could see the Ravens calling, in alphabetical order.

1. Cameron Fleming, OT, Stanford

He may not be good enough to start at right tackle as a rookie, but he would add depth to the line.

2. A. J. McCarron, QB, Alabama

We know general manager Ozzie Newsome is an Alabama guy, and the Ravens have already taken McCarron’s teammate, linebacker C. J. Mosley, in the first round.

3. Keith McGill, CB, Utah

Fits the big corner (6-foot-3, 218 pounds) body type that has become popular. The Ravens need a nickel corner to replace Corey Graham, who left for the Bills during free agency.

4. Tom Savage, QB, Pittsburgh

One of the best pure passers in the draft. Current backup Tyrod Taylor has just one year left on his contract. The Ravens are looking for his possible replacement.

5. De’Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon

Has the explosive speed to be a change-of-pace back. Ray Rice’s disappointing season and legal issues have increased the importance of adding another back.
