Football Tonight: Ravens vs. Dolphins Fantasy Picks
GAME DAY EARLY BIRD: Waking up with the Ravens, as they prepare to play the Dolphins in South Florida.
Two-minute topic: Can the Ravens win their first road game?
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – When it comes to struggling on the road, the Ravens (2-2) are not alone.
Fifteen NFL teams still don’t have a road victory. In fact, the Browns are the only team in the AFC North that has won away from home.
The Ravens’ two losses were dramatically different. Peyton Manning dismantled the Ravens with seven touchdown passes, but nobody has figured out how to keep Manning from having his way this season. However, the Week 4 loss at Buffalo was a missed opportunity for the Ravens. They couldn’t run it against a team that struggled against the run. Denver they were dominated by the Broncos, and nobody has figured out how to slow down Peyton Manning’s crew. The normally unflappable Joe Flacco tossed five interceptions.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh hopes the Ravens will be a good road team. But heading to Florida admitted uncertainty.
“I don’t think we know anything,” Harbaugh said Friday. “There is no way to know anything. We have not played well on the road yet. We need to play well on the road. We’re in a four-out-of-six game stretch on the road, and it’s going to be a big factor in determining how we start the season. We play well on the road in the next month, we’ll have a chance to be in good shape. If we don’t play well on the road, we’re going to have a problem, and we’re going to have to overcome it.”
If the Ravens win Sunday, they will be 3-2, preparing to host the Packers in Week 6. If they lose, being 2-3 before facing Green Bay would be cause for concern.
If the Ravens are going to be a good road team, the time to start is Sunday.
Morning thought: “We need to come out of the gates, we need to start fast, (and) we need to overcome whatever adversity we face during the course of the game.”
