Ed Reed will play and start Sunday against the Ravens.

Reed’s decision to play was expected.  Recovering from hip surgery, Reed had been practicing all week after missing the Texans’ first two games. According to head coach Gary Kubiak, Reed almost played last week against the Titans, but the decision was made to give Reed another week to recover.

No way Reed wanted to miss this game, not after spending 11 seasons with the Ravens, and with Ray Lewis being inducted into the Ravens Ring of Honor at halftime. It will be interesting to see if Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco tests Reed early and often, to see how close he is to 100 percent. But no matter what happens, Reed will play in front of Ravens’ fans one more time – this time as the enemy.
