Reportedly facing a lengthy suspension from the NFL, Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon keeps making news for all the wrong reasons. According to WKYC-TV, Gordon was pulled over for speeding on Memorial Day weekend. Gordon was doing 74 mph in a 60 mph zone, but here’s the other part. According to the report, a passenger in Gordon’s Mercedes was issued a citation for marijuana.

The passenger said the marijuana did not belong to Gordon. However, considering Gordon’s situation, riding in a car with someone carrying marijuana is not the best place to be.

“We’re gathering information regarding the situation,” Browns general manager Ray Farmer said in a statement issued by the team. “We will not have any further comment until the appropriate time.”

Gordon was scheduled to appear in court June 4 to dispute the ticket. The bigger problem for Gordon is his uncertain status with the NFL, after leading the league in receiving yards last season. According to ESPN, Gordon faces a possible season-long suspension for a failed drug test months ago. Gordon has been participating in OTA’s while awaiting the league’s decision. But after an eventful Memorial Day weekend, it appears Gordon will have more free time than he wants next season.
