Former Towson star running back and third-round draft pick Terrence West has signed with the Browns, the team announced Wednesday. West agreed to a four-year deal worth around $2.79 million, according to several reports.
West rushed for 2,509 yards and 42 touchdowns last season, leading Towson to the Football Championship Subdivision national championship game. The Browns plan to use West in a two-back tandem with Ben Tate, who was acquired during free agency. The Browns struggled to run the football last season, but they are expecting Tate and West to run effectively in offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan's scheme.
A Baltimore native, West will have both games against the Ravens, Sept. 21 in Cleveland, and Dec. 28 in Baltimore, circled on his calendar.
