Brad Jackson: Ray Lewis can only make Ravens' better

No Ravens are among the top vote-getters in overall Pro Bowl balloting, but the NFL’s 24th-ranked defense has four of the top players by position in the AFC.

Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (219,581), cornerback Cary Williams (141,660), free safety Ed Reed (84,017) and strong safety Bernard Pollard (57,875) highlight a list that includes Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and linebacker Jerod Mayo of the New England Patriots.

On the offensive side for the Ravens, Vonta Leach (127,610) leads among fullbacks and Jacoby Jones (80,278) tops kick returners. Jones has two returns for touchdowns on kickoffs and one on a punt.

Williams is starting fort the first time in his fifth season and has become the Ravens' No. 1 corner after Lardarius Webb went down with a season-ending knee injury last month.

Voting includes fans, players and coaches counting one-third each to selecting the 43-man rosters for each conference. It ends Dec. 17 for fans and Dec. 20-21 for players and coaches. The teams will be announced Dec. 26 on NFL Network.

The Pro Bowl will be played Jan. 27 from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu (NBC, 7 p.m. ET).
