Ravens coach John Harbaugh said running back Ray Rice would attend a couples’ seminar with his fiancée, in the aftermath of their physical altercation last month. Rice and Janay Palmer were both arrested for simple assault – domestic violence after police alleged they struck each other in an Atlantic City casino. A few days later, TMZ released a casino security video that showed Palmer, who looked to be unconscious, being dragged out of an elevator by Rice.

Harbaugh said he had spoken with Rice frequently over the past several weeks. According to Harbaugh, what Rice said had transpired during the altercation coincided with what the Ravens had learned about the incident so far.

“I’ve talked to Ray a lot, and really nothing more to add than what’s been said already,” Harbaugh said Wednesday. “Ray has told me his side of it, and everything that we’ve seen so far is very consistent with what he’s said. There’s nothing that he’s said that hasn’t turned out to be the case. I know Ray is going to spend a week at a seminar-type thing as a couples-type deal, and he’s doing everything he can to do what he needs to do and make things right.”

Atlantic City police have asked the county prosecutor’s office to review Rice’s case. In addition to his legal situation, Rice could face punishment from the NFL under the league’s personal conduct policy.
