One of the NFL Draft’s top-rated prospects, Georgia linebacker Alec Ogletree, recently was arrested on a driving under the influence charge, Pro Football Talk reports.

Good timing by him. This adds to the matters that club personnel will want to quiz Ogletree about at the Scouting Combine, which begins this week. Ogletree was suspended four games by Georgia last season for failing a drug test the previous spring.

How does this affect the Ravens? They obviously are in the market for an inside linebacker with the retirement of Ray Lewis. Ogletree has been projected as a mid-to-late first-round pick in some mock drafts, gone before the Ravens would have a chance to select him.

With this latest news, does Ogletree drop further down, giving the Ravens the opportunity to take him? And would they want to?

Ogletree’s agent, Pat Dye Jr., told Pro Football Talk: “Last weekend, my client Alec Ogletree was pulled over for speeding and a lane violation in Arizona. After the officers smelled alcohol, they conducted tests and also cited him for DUI.  Although Alec regrets this incident terribly, he is thankful that there was no accident and that no one was hurt.  Because this matter is still pending, we cannot comment further publicly at this time.”

And that’s one of those red flags you’ll hear the draft experts talking about for the next couple of months.
