Dannell Ellerbe didn’t face Peyton Manning in the regular season, and the Ravens linebacker’s ankle is still ailing.

Ellerbe, who missed three consecutive games that were all losses that included a 34-17 rout to the Denver Broncos, was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.

Running back Bernard Pierce (knee), fullback Vonta Leach (knee/ankle) and guard Jah Reid (toe) didn’t practice.

Leach has had his injury for several weeks and has played through it. Reid sat out the 24-9 wild-card win vs. the Indianapolis Colts last weekend as he was replaced on the line by Bryant McKinnie, who was re-inserted at left tackle.

Ellerbe’s presence, particularly in coverage against Manning, will be key. He was making a tackle of Colts running back Vick Ballard when Ellerbe aggravated the injury again. He was able to leave the field under his own power but didn’t return with the outcome in hand.

Ellerbe played 70 of 90 defensive snaps.

Twelve players listed with injuries fully participated for the Ravens: WR Anquan Boldin (shoulder), WR Tandon Doss (ankle), LB Adrian Hamilton (illness), LB Ray Lewis (triceps), LB Albert McClellan (shoulder), DE Pernell McPhee (thigh), DT Haloti Ngata (knee), S Bernard Pollard (chest), S Ed Reed (shoulder), CB Jimmy Smith (abdominal), LB Terrell Suggs (Achilles/biceps) and G Marshal Yanda (shoulder).
