Paul Kruger wants to stay a Raven. Apparently not as much as Anquan Boldin, though — the linebacker isn’t threatening to retire if he’s no longer a part of the team. But Kruger, who played this year like the guy the Ravens drafted in the second round in 2009, really would prefer to continue with the team.

“I’d love to stay in Baltimore. It’s a great place to play in every aspect. The organization, the facilities, the teammates,” Kruger said this week on ESPN, via Pro Football Talk. “It would be hard to leave, for sure.”

However, the NFL pundits have Kruger on his way out of town as a free agent, someone who won’t fit under the Ravens’ salary cap. “Kruger might be one of the players the Ravens just decide they can’t afford to keep,” Pro Football Talk wrote.

And as much as he wants to stay, Kruger apparently knows the club’s salary-cap reality.

“It’s something I’ve thought about from time to time, even through the season — this is my last year [of his contract],” Kruger said. “I’ve thought about it, but to come out here and end this way with a Super Bowl win, play on that stage with these guys, it was a storybook ending for sure.”
